The Department of Food and Public Distribution, under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, in collaboration with MyGov, has launched a special initiative titled “Selfies at Procurement Centres – RMS 2025-26” as part of the Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2025–26 campaign.
This initiative encourages farmers to celebrate the experience of selling wheat at government procurement centres under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. By capturing and sharing their journey through photographs, farmers can showcase the effort and pride involved in the agricultural procurement process.
About the Initiative
The purpose of this activity is to promote transparency and positivity around the wheat procurement system. Farmers are invited to take selfies at procurement centres, highlighting key moments such as:
- Loading or unloading wheat crops
- Traveling to mandis with family or fellow farmers
- Interacting with government officials
- Receiving MSP payments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
These images will help build a relatable and human-centric narrative around the MSP system, demonstrating its impact on farmers' lives.
How to Participate
Participation in the initiative is simple and entirely online:
- Visit a government procurement centre or mandi during the RMS 2025–26 wheat procurement season.
- Take a selfie during your visit, capturing relevant aspects of your experience.
- Upload the photo on the official MyGov platform before June 30, 2025.
Why Participate
- To acknowledge and share the hard work of farmers
- To create awareness around the benefits of the MSP system
- To support a transparent and efficient procurement process
- To contribute to a national campaign that values and recognizes farming efforts
Conclusion
This initiative offers farmers and stakeholders a platform to share their experiences and be part of a nationwide movement aimed at highlighting the importance of fair procurement practices. By participating, farmers can not only preserve memories of their contribution to the nation’s food supply but also inspire others to engage with government initiatives that support agriculture.
